Styling React ComponentsEntry 7 of 7
Choosing an Approach
| Approach | Scoped? | Dynamic styling | Best for | Angular equivalent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vanilla CSS | No | Conditional classes | Global styles, small apps | styles.css |
| Inline styles | Per element | Excellent | Runtime values only | [style.x] |
| CSS Modules | Yes | Conditional classes | Default choice without Tailwind | Component styles (default) |
| styled-components | Yes | Excellent (props) | Existing codebases | Component styles + bindings |
| Tailwind | N/A (utilities) | Conditional classes | Most new projects | Tailwind (same classes) |
Rule of thumb: React makes you choose a scoping strategy; Angular gives you one by default. Coming from Angular, CSS Modules will feel the most familiar, and Tailwind will feel the same in both.
